Well it is that time again and I am super surprised after my bad week that the scales haven’t moved one iota. Yep I am actually pleased as I have definitely had a poor food choice week. Phew. I will take that. No loss and no gain. I even lost 0.5cm off my waist and hips so I guess it is a win 😊
Today was a pretty busy day as I got to head out onto a crime scene again. Was great to once again be out of the office but put me out of whack with my routine. I had some nibbles which I was able to take and being super busy always helps. This day we actually got lunch catered for us which is awesome, so we were provided with subway rolls. Yes carb overload but for not eating much else that day, I think I can let that slide 😊. We got some overtime also tonight so a bit of extra cash in my pockets is always a good thing too.
So I am back at the crime scene today as it is a big job. Again a busy day, getting hotter and also no facilities to store or heat up food. I knew that we would most likely buy something for lunch so I made sure to not eat much until then. I figured that will help if I have another carb loaded meal, which I did. We went and got an awesome Vietnamese roll which was so delicious. I haven’t had one in ages so I was stoked it was one of the better ones that I have eaten. If you haven’t seen my post, you should check out my video which I posted re: being busy and out of whack with my routine. I thought it would be good to touch base through the week as well as at the end of the week with these blogs.
Not much else to report today, all went pretty well and I actually wasn’t hugely hungry for dinner so only had something small. I feel the last couple days were busy enough being on my feet so I didn’t do any exercise either the last couple days.
Today was an awesome day, I headed up north to Orora at Kingsford and was able to deliver my “How to Stay Mentally Healthy” seminar to some very receptive and interested people. We stimulated some great conversation and overall it was a great success. I can’t wait to roll it out to other organisations and of course to all of you guys 😊 it really is an interesting topic with some great information. I will also make it into a podcast to allow access to those who may not be able to join one of our seminars.
Nothing much else to report today. I hadn’t really eaten a lot and started to become pretty hungry by the time I was heading home from up north, so I did stop off again to grab another of those Vietnamese rolls as it was just so delicious. Again, I was rushed as I had to head straight home, get changed and head straight into work so was under the pump. I did feel a little flustered by the time I got there but I soon calmed down and got into the swing of what I had to do. I do feel stressed some days trying to juggle my business commitments and my full-time work but all in all I think I have made it work pretty well with minimal disruptions between the two.
A very uneventful day today, nothing much to report at all. Even though I always have plenty to do, I decided to take a breather and have a restful morning before heading into work. I needed to recharge my batteries so it worked a treat. Sometimes we just need to do that. You need to listen to your body and even with our busy lives we need to stop and reboot every now and again. I am definitely glad I did. I had afternoon shift tonight so was ready to hit the ground running after my relaxing morning 😊
Not a whole lot happening again today, I just pottered around the house preparing for the MHFA course that I will be teaching at our wellness centre the next two days. I love teaching this course and I am looking forward to meeting the participants. Intrinsic Mind Holistic Health & Wellness Centre will be rolling out different MHFA courses next year every 6 weeks or so, so be sure to check the events and calendar on our website and our social media platforms and book in at our early bird prices to secure your place. There is a course to suit everyone and the courses will begin to fill up pretty quickly. I can’t wait to meet you all 😊.
Nothing much else to report for today as I am on afternoon shift again and it was pretty run of the mill and uneventful.
Well today was the start of the 2 x day Standard MHFA course at Intrinsic Mind Holistic Health & Wellness Centre. It is only the second time we have delivered this course there, so it was great to have it all set up looking awesome. We had a great mix of people who embraced the course and its content, plus they are extra awesome for giving up their weekend to learn some invaluable skills in Mental Health First Aid.
Well, this week has been a bit on the poorer side of the food choices again, although my appetite really isn’t anywhere near where it was which is a great thing. I am trying to only eat when I am hungry and not when the time of the day dictates (ie. Lunch time etc.). I am not too concerned that this week was very minimal with exercise, although I was very busy and on my feet a lot which is more than usual, this is a year long journey and a whole lifestyle change, so it will wax and wane throughout. I also am quite aware that carbs are definitely dominating my diet of late, which I know I am better without, or severely reduced, so that is something I will definitely try and change for next week. It is easy to fall back into those old habits once you get the taste for it again. So time to cut back on carbs and sugars again and see how I go.
Thanks for joining me for this week’s instalment of “the week that was”. Be sure to tune in for next weeks update. I hope you have a fabulous week.
