Vajrasana "Diamond Pose" With Intrinsic Mind Wellness
Back Opener
Combining Heart and Back
Simply by just sitting on the legs in Vajrasana has many benefits, but adding and combining movement can be so stimulating.
Here we open the scapula (shoulder blades), by interlacing the fingers and drawing the shoulders forward. This has a wonderful effect on the breath through the back body. Increasing flow of blood to the central nervous system as you open every vertebra by rounding and stretching forward.
Like Cat / Cow pose, this is what we are basically doing from Vajrasana when we combine day 2 and 3 together.
While Cow Tilt and Cat Stretch may look “easy,” it is a powerful pose for the mind. The breath synchronized movement increases coordination, fosters intentional focus, and invigorates prana (the vital life force in the body). Furthermore, it is associated with increased emotional balance and stability of the mind. Lastly, lengthening the spine improves circulation to the discs between the vertebrae, which in turn relieves stress from the back and calms the mind.

Better Health and Wellness With Vajrasana
Yoga is one of the best ways to soothe, relax and uplift the trinity of body, mind and soul. It is a holistic approach to attain the silencing of mind, muting the business of thoughts and to fix all possible imbalances present in body. Yoga heals inside out; it is one of the most inexpensive and easiest ways to stay fit physically as well as mentally. One of the best things about practising yoga is that it comes easy. It is a mix of breathing exercises and simple poses that first work on you getting used to it and once you have started enjoying it, it takes you higher, enabling you to try out more advanced intense poses for greater flexibility and strength.
Exactly, one of the reasons why this age-old science is rapidly catching up with the West is because it doesn't feel like the agony of the gym. It uses your own body against you to challenge and strengthen it, I (Leisa) personally gave up weights when I started yoga using my own body weight to gain strength . What's more surprising is that sometimes you don't even have to do a thing. Simply lying on your back with hands and legs wide apart makes a yoga asana - shavasana. Talking of easy postures, today we shall talk about an asana that looks extremely stress-free yet does a great deal for the body - Vajrasana.
1. Improves Digestive Health:
Vajrasana alters the blood flow in the lower pelvic region. The blood flow to the legs is reduced and the blood flow to the digestive organs is increased. This increases the efficiency of the digestive system and helps those with weak digestion to digest a meal easily. Regular practice strengthens the digestive system and keeps acidity, indigestion, bloating, constipation at bay.
2. Better blood circulation:
Vajrasana helps better blood circulation in the body. It modifies the blood flow by reducing the blood flow in lower portion, especially in the legs and increasing blood flow to the upper parts of the body including digestive organs, heart, lungs and brain.
3. Makes lower body flexible:
It strengthens the sexual organs, tones lower body muscles (hips, thighs, calves), cures joint pains, urinary problems, etc.
4. Helps in weight loss:
Losing weight becomes possible with regular practice of Vajrasana. You will see reduction in your belly fat after a few weeks of regular practice of Vajrasana.
5. Helps meditation:
In Vajrasana the body becomes upright and straight with no effort. Slow and rhythmic breathing in this position can help you go into the meditative state very easily.

Evaluating your score:
0 - 10 Yes Answers: You accept the conventional notion that the body is basically fixed, either by genes or mechanical processes of decay and aging. You expect to ear out over time as you age. Your optimism about alternative medicine is distinctly limited and may be totally overshadowed by skepticism. You would never rely on healers and look upon so-called miraculous cures as either fraud or self-deception. On one hand, you trust medical science and expect doctors to take care of you. On the other hand, you don't pay much attention to your body and feel fatalistic about things that can go wrong with it. Given the possibility of a major breakthrough, you feel cautious about making any major changes in your life.
11 - 20 Yes Answers: Your experience has caused you to shift away from the conventional wisdom about the body. You are open to change and have broadened your ideas about healing. Either you or your friends have gone to some form of alternative treatment with success, and you are no longer completely accepting that mainstream medicine is the only answer. Yet the claims of hands-on-healing probably make you skeptical. In general, you haven't found a way of understanding the body that's more satisfying than the Western scientific model, yet you are well aware that unconventional approaches can be valid. You are attracted to the possibility of making a major change in your life, although you haven't decided which alternative is right for you.
21 - 25 Yes answers: You have made a conscious effort to shift away from the old paradigm. For you, alternative therapies are firmly accepted and believed in. You seek conventional treatment only after you've tried holistic medicine, and even then, you are wary of drugs and surgery. Your view of the body is likely to be tied to a spiritual journey that you take quite seriously. You identify with other seekers of higher consciousness. You firmly believe in hands-on healing. You question whether any form of materialism can really plumb the deeper mysteries of life.
You have embraced personal transformation as a major goal in your life and want to change as rapidly as possible.
