Get Rid of It! When to Throw Out your Vision Board
Hello again,
Let’s talk about your vision board. You know, the one you created a while back.
Is it still working for you?
Have you achieved your goals yet?
If not, maybe it’s time to create a new one.
Here are some reasons why your vision board may not be working.
No strategy. If pasting random images of things that caught your eye is what’s on your vision board, then you need to get rid of it! You should have a strategy in mind when you choose your images.
Too many goals. Your goal for your vision board was to put up images of every goal you have in your life, from the tiniest (get a manicure every week) to big audacious goals (Travel the world for a year). I’m not saying you can’t have multiple goals, but when creating your life goals vision board, try to focus on one big one in each area of your life. Toss out the old board and narrow down your focus for your new one.
Wrong goals. If you created a vision board, which contained goals that you don’t really want to pursue, you need to get rid of it. If your goal was to get in lose 10 pounds so your boyfriend would like your body better, for example, but what you really wanted to tackle was changing the way you see yourself your board was created from the wrong goal. Throw out the old vision board. Rethink what you want, as well as create goals that are relevant and meaningful to you.
Changed life direction. Perhaps, you had a major change in your life and now you want to change directions in where you are going. It could be a marriage broke up, you changed careers, or anything that makes you unsure of where you want to be. Get rid of the old board and have fun building a new one.
Did you Know This Tool Can Simplify Creating a Vision Board
So far, we’ve talked about creating your vision board and clarifying your goals. Let’s look at some apps that make creating your vision board easier (and less messy!).
Creating a DIY vision board can be a messy affair. You may have magazines images, glue, stickers, and all kinds of creative tools or resources that can create clutter. Check out my vision board mess below, it was fun but so messy.

Instead, you can use an app that simplifies it all. Apps let you create your board digitally, saves them to your phone or desktop so you can access them any time and are easy to use.
Some of the other advantages include:
- A vision board app delivers your vision board in a matter of minutes.
- Stress-free and still enjoyable
- Offers endless options in design, layout, colors
- Wide choice of images available to you
- Crystal clear pictures
- Many vision board apps allow you to print your vision board or have it printed by them
- Offers a better structure to make it easier to focus on your goals
- Can only be seen by you (unless you want to share it)
