Weigh In Weight - End of Week 3
Oh nooooo - End of Week 4 (400 gram weight gain)
But still measurements came down - you will learn more next week as we head into week 5
THE WEEK THAT WAS – Week 4
Sunday – 30th September
Well this morning I had a great weigh in – I am quite shocked actually. I tipped the scales at 89.7 kg….how great is that. I haven’t been in my 80’s for months and to do it in 3 weeks is great. Pretty stoked with that effort.
I picked Leisa up from the airport as she had been away for a few days and we decided to go get brunch. There is this most amazing place not far from our place called the Loose Caboose and Leisa and I have been there a number of times, working our way through the menu. Their food is so amazing and have yet to been disappointed. The way they present their food and the flavour is divine. I know that there were some meals that I could choose from so it made it an even easier choice to visit. I had this most amazing nourish bowl (you may have seen it posted on Facebook) I added smoked salmon and mushroom to it and it was just perfect. I think it is my new favourite thing 😊
It was a beautiful day today too, so Leisa and I made sure to sit outside to get some Vitamin D and do our work/study. Was a nice relaxing day and great to have Leisa home.

Monday – 1st October
So it’s a public holiday today (YAY) and another day off work. My beautiful family are down from Queensland so we are all meeting up for some lunch at the Seacliff hotel. It has been years since seeing my cousins and their kids, its amazing how much they have grown.
Going out for a meal is always a challenge because you have to attempt to make better choices, so again I indulged in a couple of vodka, lime and soda’s. The menu was a challenge as there were probably only two to 3 things I could potentially choose from so in the end I decided upon a delicious prosciutto wrapped barramundi with scallops, dukkha, asparagus and a cauliflower mash. It was actually really delicious, so I am happy with my choice.

Having our family down has been fantastic, we really miss being so far away and are always great fun to be with when we do catch up. Next time we will head up there, probably next year as I will be graduating from Griffith University, so will be a perfect excuse to visit everyone.
Tuesday – 2nd October
Nothing too much happening today, I am back to work on arvo shift and I am also starting to get a bit of a cold ☹ so feeling a bit lethargic as well. Hopefully it won’t turn into anything too severe. I have also been a bit slack in the exercise department due to feeling pretty flat. I need to keep momentum otherwise I feel I will slip back into my old habits again…..
After work, Leisa wanted to make something for lunches the next couple of days. We are trying to use up the veggies in the fridge, so she decided to make up some tuna and vegetable sausage rolls. Now I know that pastry isn’t the best, but the innards were delicious. Sweet potato, kale, spinach, mushroom, kidney beans, chilli tuna, pine nuts and a few other bits and pieces. Leisa did a great job

Wednesday – 3rd October
So I am still feeling pretty yuk with my cold but I thought I better drag myself onto the bike and do a bit of exercise. I did 30minutes and burnt 321 calories, but I struggled…..silly colds
I have always had a habit when I am not feeling well to eat bad food or comfort food…….I have missed getting Uber Eats, I don’t know why but I just have, so I thought for dinner at work tonight, I might see what they have available which would appease my need to order take out, all while sticking to better choices. I found the best place ever called Poke Me, where you can make your own bowl. Check out the receipt below for what I put in it……..yum yum 😊 I think I succeeded at maintaining my better choices.
Thursday – 4th October
Well not a lot at all to report, my cold is getting worse ☹ and just feel yukky. I still have to work in the arvo so will see how I go. I didn’t actually eat a whole lot today, as I just didn’t feel like it, but when I did eat, I ate quite healthy, so I stuck to my better food choices.
Friday – 5th October
Again, not a lot going on, today is the worst day of my cold so I actually even called in sick. I needed to rest up to try and kick this bug. As the day went on, I started to feel a little better which is great as I must have just gotten over the worst of it….phew. So, plenty of water for me and rest. I didn’t get out of my pyjamas all day (it was kind of good actually)
Saturday – 6th October
Well thank god I feel a lot better today. Still quite blocked in the nose but I have a little more energy, which is great. Most of the day I was holed up in my study, frantically trying to finish this assignment as I have been a little slower the last few days with my cold. Luckily, I was able to meet the deadline and get it all sent off in plenty of time. Online study is a fantastic thing, especially as it accommodates for people like me who lead such busy lives. You must have a lot of personal motivation though to ensure you keep on track with deadlines. Time management has always been something I have prided myself on and it is a skill I have developed well over the years. Granted as things get busier, it becomes more challenging, however, it’s just a matter of evolving and adapting to ensure that all components are factored into my day.
In the afternoon we had an incredibly fun day where we celebrated one of our good friends birthday. It was different to any other birthday we had been to as we started with a scavenger hunt which sent us all around the streets of Adelaide taking photos and selfies of what was on the list. It was so much fun, I think we will steal it for future ideas with mates.

We all finished up back at the Wheatsheaf hotel where once again we indulged in drinking – this time not the most healthiest choice as it was gin, lime & and some other mixer that I am not sure of. This was probably the best choice from the subsidised drinks we had to choose from though. The meal was a big challenge too as the Wheaty doesn’t actually have a kitchen, so they bring in food trucks. You never really know what you are going to get. This night there was a vegan Greek yiros truck which as you can guess had carbs carbs and more carbs. Not one thing on the menu was a better choice….:-( so I indulged in a “lamb” yiros. When I say a vegan Greek yiros truck, I actually didn’t realize until I was half way through eating it. It actually tasted nice but I felt jipped……all in all, tonight really didn’t help me at all on my better choice journey, but you know what, I had so much fun so I think I can let this slide. Heaven forbid what the scales will look like tomorrow.
In Conclusion
Well this week was full of ups and downs. It is so great to have my family down from Queensland and to spend some quality time with them, this was definitely one of my highlights from the week, as well as spending some good quality time with Leisa eating delicious food while chatting about life in the sunshine 😊 Having this cold though really put a dampener on my week which meant little exercise, plenty of rest and lack of motivation. My diet also wasn’t the greatest so there will probably be a small blip on the scales tomorrow…….will have to wait and see if I have put anything back on (as always we give the week Ending weigh in - little clip of 400 grams). Thanks for stopping by for the week that was and be sure to check in next week to see how I am going on my better choice journey. Have a fantastic week everyone.
