√ WHY SHOULD I BECOME A MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AIDER?
Mental Health First Aid is a training course designed to help people to recognise the symptoms of mental health so that they can support those who are affected by it. The training course assists in reducing the stigma of mental health. It also raises awareness of a range of conditions to those who may not know about them.
√ WHAT AM I GOING TO LEARN IN THIS COURSE.
The benefits are numerous. The certificate is a terrific addition to anyone's resume. You will learn
  • how to recognise signs and symptoms of mental health problems and crises in your employees, co-workers, friends and loved ones
  • risk factors and appropriate evidence-based treatments and supports
  • how to respond and offer appropriate support to employees and co-workers using the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan ALGEE
√ DOES THIS COURSE QUALIFY YOU TO BECOME A THERAPIST?
Being a Mental Health First Aider doesn’t qualify you to provide therapy to someone who may need it. They are there to support an individual and help to make their life at work easier. It is important to not be judgmental and to encourage them to access the professional support that is available.
√ WHAT THIS COURSE COVERS

I would absolutely recommend Intrinsic Mind Holistic Health & Wellness Centre!

For 2 reasons - first I went there for a blissful Sunday morning yoga session to help raise money for beyond blue which was an awesome way to start the day in such a beautiful space, feeling revitalised & also helping a great cause which is close to my heart.
??
Second I attended the Mental Health First Aid course & it was fantastic! Not only was it full of great & useful information, Jen delivered the course in a simple, easy to understand & fun learning environment.

It has helped me with a friend who has reached out to me recently who is suffering from depression & anxiety.

I look forward to doing another course for youth mental health & trying out the Hot Pilates (which I’ve heard is amazing!)

Why Do you Need This and Why Is Now The Right Time For you

Picture
Improved knowledge of mental illnesses, their treatments and appropriate first aid strategies. Take this into your business or workplace knowing that you are well equipped.
Picture
Confidence in providing first aid to a person experiencing a mental health problem. You will walk away feeling confident in yourself knowing that you are able to assist whilst having all the resources available to you to provide to others.
Picture
Decreases in stigmatising attitudes. The key to reducing the stigma attached to mental illness is education. If we can raise awareness amongst all Australians of the nature of mental health disorders - increasing awareness of the symptoms, causes and treatments of mental illnesses and by promoting the experiences of people whose lives have been affected by mental illness we will go a long way to reducing the negative perception of mental illness.

Having more certified first aiders increases in the amount and type of support provided to others. The resources alone are amazing.

The 12-hour Standard MHFA course has been endorsed for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, by several professional bodies as shown below.
